The entire Retreat family mourns the passing of Bob Davis, long-time Retreater and friend to many, on June 30, 2025. Bob was not only a friendly and enthusiastic participant, he was a talented musician on oud, and percussion, as well as a soulful vocalist. Ever since he first attended the Retreat in 2000, Bob went above and beyond to make the Retreat something special. He was a naturally gregarious and friendly person, reaching out to all, and always wishing everyone the best. And soon he began filming all group classes, concerts, and open mic sessions. He made the footage available to Retreaters, and to others interested in the material presented at the Retreat. We mourn his passing deeply. We will miss him, and will cherish his memory as well as his example of a generous and kind person. He made a big difference to the Retreat as an institution, as well as to many Retreaters, both veterans and ‘first-timers’.
